Governor Moore And Lieutenant Governor Miller Launch 2026 Reelection Campaign With Baltimore and Prince George’s County Rallies

On Saturday, Governor Wes Moore, First Lady Dawn Moore, Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller, Second Gentleman David Miller, Comptroller Brooke Lierman, Baltimore City Mayor Brandon Scott, Prince George’s County Executive Aisha Braveboy, Maryland Democratic Party Chairman Steuart Pittman and Vice Chair Dr. Charlene Dukes, and many local leaders kicked off the 2026 reelection campaign with hundreds of Marylanders in attendance at rallies in Baltimore City and Prince George’s County.

Here’s What Marylanders Are Reading:

With a circle of American flags overhead and a deafening roar of approval from the crowd, Gov. Wes Moore flashed a peace sign and bounded onstage at Baltimore’s B&O Railroad Museum to launch his reelection campaign into high gear Saturday afternoon.

“How’s it going, Maryland?” Moore shouted with a wide grin. “I am so happy to see y’all.”

Shirtsleeves rolled up, Moore gradually built the museum crowd’s energy as he made his case for four more years leading the state. He recalled the spirit of famous Marylanders Harriet Tubman and Thurgood Marshall.

“We’re just built different,” Moore said to cheers. “But we do not just push back. We push forward.”

Moore repeated the scene a few hours later at Prince George’s Community College, where the crowd chanted “Four more years! Four more years!” … They were the kind of splashy events that take money and manpower.

Several hundred supporters of Maryland Gov. Wes Moore waved signs, shouted words of encouragement and participated in line dances along to “grown folks” tunes played by local personality DJ QuickSilva, while anxiously awaiting Moore’s arrival at Prince George’s Community College in Maryland on May 2.

Over the last several weeks, Moore has been crisscrossing the state, taking the pulse of Maryland voters, touting his administration’s accomplishments over the past four years, and vowing to “finish the job” if given the opportunity.

Speaking before supporters at the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore, Moore promised a “public safety turnaround,” along with continued efforts to grow the state’s economy, improve public education and rebuild the Francis Scott Key Bridge.

Later in the day, Moore addressed backers at Prince George’s Community College, where chants of “four more years” echoed through the crowd.

In January, Moore-Miller for Maryland announced a record-breaking fundraising year of $7 million–the most ever raised in an off year in Maryland, and entered the new year with a staggering $8 million cash-on-hand. So far this year, the campaign has also received endorsements from the Maryland League of Conservation Voters, theMaryland REALTORS®,Maryland International Association of Fire Fighters, Maryland’s largest union, theMaryland State Education Association,Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 500, as well asDemocrats andRepublicans from across the state.
