ANNAPOLIS, MD – Today, Governor Wes Moore announced his 2026 reelection campaign in Maryland, and leaders from all across the state announced their strong support for his work in Annapolis and his reelection campaign in 2026.
Leaders from across the state offered praise for Governor Moore’s record of standing up for Maryland’s middle class, jumpstarting the economy, making our communities safer, and strengthening our public schools.
“Governor Moore has a clear vision for our state that includes strengthening our economy, boosting public safety, and lowering costs for working families,” said U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen. “We worked together to secure full funding to rebuild the iconic Key Bridge and his strong partnership with federal Team Maryland is vital as we now defend Maryland against a lawless president. I am proud to endorse him to continue our fight to secure and protect critical federal resources and create new opportunities for Marylanders.”
“I don’t exaggerate when I say people get jealous of Maryland when they hear who our team captain is,” said Senator Angela Alsobrooks. “Governor Wes Moore has been a tremendous leader who has stood up for working families across our great state, made our communities safer, and strengthened our public schools. Even in these difficult times, he’s led with humility and a laser focus on his North Star: bettering the lives of Marylanders. I’m proud to endorse him as he seeks re-election.”
“When I first endorsed Wes Moore, I was inspired by his vision to ensure No One is Left Behind. Since then, I have watched him lead our state with strength, integrity, diligence, and vision,” said Congressman Steny H. Hoyer. “Together, alongside Team Maryland, we have delivered for communities across our state, including Prince George’s County and Southern Maryland. I know that Wes Moore has so much more to deliver for our state. I am proud to endorse him wholeheartedly. Wes Moore makes Maryland proud, and I can’t wait to work alongside him to make sure the future is Maryland’s Time.”
“I’ve seen firsthand Governor Wes Moore’s proven record of leadership and unwavering dedication in rising to every challenge. He serves for the right reasons and believes deeply in the promise of our state. In the toughest moments, our Governor shows up—not just with words, but with action,” said Congresswoman April McClain Delaney. “He’s a fighter for all our communities—including our most rural areas—our families, and the future of our state. He always puts people first and works with everyone, across lines and differences, to deliver solutions that truly make a difference. That kind of leadership is rare, and it’s exactly what we need to keep moving forward together.”
“While Washington continues to attack working families in need, our governor is taking action to protect us,” said Prince George’s County Executive Aisha Braveboy. “I stood alongside the governor as he announced streamlined benefits access for Marylanders–I know he’ll continue to stand up for us in Annapolis. No matter who is in the White House we can count on him to ensure our veterans, seniors, disabled residents, and working families can access the basic services they need.”
“Governor Wes Moore took office and went to work. Throughout this term, he has secured billions in private investment, boosted job creation, and launched bold initiatives in workforce training and the quantum and biotech industries. This Governor is committed to growth,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. Compare it to the years before—when big ideas stalled and opportunities slipped away—the difference in leadership couldn’t be more clear. I value the Governor’s partnership in helping Montgomery County grow along with the state, and it’s evident he is leading a Maryland Renaissance.”
“During his tenure, Governor Moore has proven to be a champion for all Maryland communities by ensuring no one is left behind. He has consistently focused on expanding economic opportunity for families, growing small businesses, and supporting our students and educators,” said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball. “His campaign for re-election is another way he is showcasing his unwavering commitment to our state. I remain an ecstatic partner as we continue our work together to build a stronger Maryland for all.”
“Governor Moore is a strong partner for Frederick County, and he is personally committed to our success,” said Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater. “The Governor’s investments in US-15, new school construction, and major job-creating economic development projects means sustainable growth for our community and our partnership with the state has been critical to that success.”
“As a Councilmember for more than a decade, I’ve been grateful to have a Governor who is committed to the success of Baltimore City and the people I represent,” said Baltimore City Council Vice President Sharon Green Middleton. “When it comes to state investments into historically disenfranchised communities, his dedication to our region after the collapse of the FSK Bridge, and his commitment to stand with the City to address public safety, Governor Moore continues to have Baltimore’s back and I’m proud to have his.”
“It didn’t matter that I’m a Republican or that my town votes for Republicans, Governor Moore has been there for us since the very first day of his administration,” said Lonaconing Mayor Jack Coburn. “A governor hadn’t been in my town since 1996, but when a water crisis struck in this first week of his term he was on the ground here making sure we were taken care of. At a time where we can be so divided, Governor Moore is showing us that there is a better way forward.”
“Time and time again, Governor Wes Moore has shown us he is committed to building a Maryland that leaves no one behind,” said Cambridge Mayor Lajan Cephas. “Governor Moore showed Cambridge he’s committed to us when he designated our home as an ENOUGH Act community, an effort that prioritizes state investments in places that have been historically impacted by exclusionary policies. This is a governor of action, someone who stands up for middle-class Marylanders–our community needs his continued leadership.”
The governor’s announcement video highlighting his commitment to making life more affordable for Marylanders and his record of turning Maryland’s long-forecasted structural deficit into a surplus, creating record-low unemployment, cutting taxes for middle-class families, bringing down homicides in Baltimore to fifty-year lows, and leading the state through the tragic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, can be watched here.
