Today, Governor Wes Moore announced his endorsement of several leaders across Maryland running to flip the state’s most competitive districts from red to blue.
“If we are going to build a Maryland that leaves no one behind we must uplift our community leaders that will prioritize creating work, wages, and wealth in all of our communities,” said Governor Wes Moore. “These leaders have raised their hands to serve in our state’s most competitive districts and we are all in to make sure in November these communities have someone in office who will fight for them.”
“With Governor Wes Moore on our team, we will flip this district and put leadership in Annapolis that will fight to bring work, wages, and wealth to everyone regardless of their zip code,” said Chuck Cook, Candidate for House of Delegates District 33B. ” As an Army veteran, like the Governor, and as an advocate for working people, “Leave no one behind” isn’t just a catchphrase or motto, it’s the entire reason we want to serve. Governor Moore knows as well as anyone what our mission is here in district 33B–to fight for working families, because they’re who makes Maryland happen, and they’re who we’re going to fight for.”
“It’s an honor to receive the support of Governor Moore, who shares the desire to rapidly address the rising costs of eggs, energy and everything in between. I look forward to working with Gov. Moore to ensure that Eastern Shore residents continue to see lower prices, the highest quality education and far greater job opportunities,” said Wicomico County Councilman Josh Hastings, Candidate for House of Delegates District 38. “As a two-term County Councilman that has built a strong reputation for thoughtfully and civilly bringing together opposing views, I’m eager to work alongside Governor Moore to make authentic progress on day one for every Wicomico resident regardless of their zip code or their party affiliation.”
“I’m honored to have the support of Governor Moore as we work to flip Maryland’s most competitive senate seat,” said Lara Westdorp, Candidate for State Senate District 4. “Together we will continue to make Frederick a home where everyone can afford to live a secure middle class life where our schools are strong, our communities are safe, and our housing is affordable.”
“I’m proud to stand alongside Governor Moore as we work to flip this district–in communities like this, success comes from focusing on results, not partisanship, and that is exactly what we will deliver,” said Spencer Jones, Candidate for Anne Arundel County Council District 7. “As a small business owner, I know we must bring people together and support small businesses, and that’s what I’m committed to doing as the next Anne Arundel County Councilman for District 7. Together we will compete and win in every part of Maryland, and I am excited to work with Governor Moore to move Anne Arundel County forward.”
“Carroll County needs a voice in Annapolis to make sure it stays such a great place to live, work and grow,” said Corynne Courpas, Candidate for Delegate District 42C. “I’m so honored to have the support of Governor Moore as we work to flip this district in November.”
“Congressman Harris represents only the furthest extremes of the Republican party. His last in-person town hall was 3 years ago, so it’s no wonder folks in this district feel ignored. They see him campaigning in Hungary, supporting Trump’s tariffs that drive up costs, and trying to repeal their health insurance, and they know it’s time for a change,” said Dan Schwartz, Candidate for Maryland’s 1st Congressional District. “I’m looking forward to working with Governor Moore to flip this district and when we do, I’m committed to holding monthly town halls open to everyone, re-investing in our farmers and communities, and prioritizing working people in the first district. Having spent a career in consumer protection fighting predatory lenders, crypto crooks, and billionaires, I’m ready for this fight and am excited to have Governor Moore in my corner.”
