Governor Moore And Lieutenant Governor Miller Rally Prince George’s County For 2026 Reelection Campaign

Gov. Moore Pledges To “Push Back And Push Forward” To Lower Costs, Continue Record Drops In Crime, And Make Our Schools Even Stronger

Today, Governor Wes Moore, First Lady Dawn Moore, Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller, Second Gentleman David Miller, Comptroller Brooke Leirman, Prince George’s County Executive Aisha Braveboy, Maryland Democratic Party Vice Chair Dr. Charlene Dukes, and many local leaders kicked off the 2026 reelection campaign with hundreds of Marylanders in attendance at a rally in Prince George’s County.

“If you never forget who you’re fighting for, you will never stop fighting,” said Governor Wes Moore. “In four years, we have delivered enormous progress, and defied the false choices of insider politics. But there is still more work to do. Maryland is facing a tireless assault from a corrupt White House that keeps raising prices on everything from groceries to rent. But in the face of challenge, we steel our resolve and push forward. This campaign stands with Marylanders of all backgrounds, stories, zip codes, and creeds who see a brighter future for our state. And together, we will leave no one behind.

“Wes is a promise-keeper. He honors his word. He never tires. And he fights every day for the people of Maryland,” said First Lady Dawn Moore. “Over the last four years, he has kept his promises to Marylanders, creating new pathways to work, wages, and wealth for all. And in this election, he is running not just on a bold vision, but on a strong record of results. It’s time for us to run it back, and push forward, as we continue to bring Marylanders together and make life better for every person in our state.”

“Today, we take the next step in our work to leave no one behind, and we’re fired up to travel the state and meet Marylanders where they are,” said Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller. “Together, we’ve done the hard work of turning values into action by making communities safer, expanding opportunity, and delivering real results for families. This has always been a partnership, with each other and with the people of Maryland.”

“Living with Aruna, I see things other people don’t–the late nights, the early mornings, the genuine care she carries for every Marylander she serves,” said Second Gentleman David Miller. “Public service isn’t a role she stepped into, it’s been her life’s work. Alongside Governor Moore, she’s making a difference, and I couldn’t be prouder to be by her side.”

“Governor Moore and Lieutenant Governor Miller have been true partners in delivering for Marylanders, whether we are working together at the Board of Public Works to make sure every state dollar delivers best value, joining forces to demand the Trump Administration reimburse Marylanders the $4 billion taken from our families through illegal tariffs, or tackling the housing affordability crisis that so many of our neighbors face,” said Comptroller Brooke Lierman. “With the federal government pulling back from our state, this partnership matters more than ever. I am proud to stand with them as we keep building a Maryland that leaves no one behind.”

“When I first took office last year, I was faced with turbulent times. But I have faith in God, the people of Prince Georges County, the leadership of the county and state, and I have the greatest governor in America as a true partner and he has delivered,” said Prince George’s County Executive Aisha Braveboy. “In less than a year, we have turned everything around. Our economy is booming largely because of the $685 million dollar direct capital projects in Prince Georges County from Governor Moore. We have attracted the $1.6B Sphere project to National Harbor and we will be partnering to redevelop the 515 acre Six Flags with Prince George’s own Kevin Durant. And, this is just the beginning. It is an understatement to say that we are excited that the campaign launch is in the county because this governor has kept his word to the people of Prince George’s County.”

“The Moore-Miller administration has shown what it means to lead with purpose and deliver results. This election is about continuing that work and ensuring it reaches every part of our state,” said Maryland Democratic Party Vice Chair Dr. Charlene Dukes “The Moore-Miller administration has shown what it means to lead with purpose and deliver results. This election is about continuing that work and ensuring it reaches every part of our state.”

Before Governor Moore took office, Prince George’s was constantly overlooked by the governor’s office in Annapolis. From crucial funding decisions to economic opportunities and public safety funding – the county had to fight tooth and nail for every dime being invested into their community. Now, Prince George’s County has a partner in the Governor. Gov. Moore believes and invests in them. When businesses want to expand into Maryland, he fights to get them to move here. When the state is deciding what communities to invest resources in toward public safety and education, he ensures Prince George’s has a seat at the table for those decisions.
