BALTIMORE (Feb. 7, 2022) – Democratic candidate for Governor Wes Moore and his running mate former Del. Aruna Miller opened their Baltimore City field office yesterday in Midtown. Elected officials, community leaders, and grassroots supporters attended the event and joined dozens of volunteers in canvassing Baltimore neighborhoods following the event.
Surrounded by Baltimore City elected leaders and grassroots supporters, Moore described the symbolism of the new Baltimore field office in District 40 – a legislative district whose entire slate of legislators have endorsed the Moore-Miller ticket. The location stands in the shadow of State Center – a long-promised $1.5 billion redevelopment project around several state-owned office buildings, only to be stalled by the Board of Public Works.
“Our promise to the city of Baltimore and to the state of Maryland is that in a Moore-Miller administration, you will have a partner actively working with you every single day to address the generational challenges facing our communities,” Wes Moore told the leaders who surrounded him and his running mate. “Aruna Miller and I will ensure that under our administration we are growing our economy equitably and we are building our state collectively.”
“Baltimore is key to our strategy of creating an economy that will make Maryland stronger.
Maryland can only succeed when Baltimore succeeds as well,” said Moore’s running mate, former Del. Aruna Miller, in her remarks. “Baltimore needs a partner in Annapolis and that partner is the Moore-Miller ticket.”
“Wes Moore has wowed us all with the launch of his campaign, not just here in Baltimore but in every jurisdiction throughout the state of Maryland, building a coalition that is as diverse as our state with a message that resonates with all of us,” said Sen. Antonio Hayes (District 40).
Wes Moore and Aruna Miller’s rapidly growing coalition includes endorsements from former Governor and former Prince George’s County Executive Parris Glendening; Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman; former Baltimore County Executive Don Mohler; former Baltimore County Executive Jim Smith; Sen.
