Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund Endorses Wes Moore for Maryland Governor

Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund joins a growing list of endorsers to the Wes Moore for Maryland campaign

‘If elected, I’ll work tirelessly to make our communities safer,’ says Moore

BALTIMORE (Oct. 7, 2022) – Today, the Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund, endorsed Wes Moore in the 2022 Maryland Gubernatorial Election.

“If elected, I’ll work tirelessly to make our communities safer by fighting to take dangerous guns off the streets, fully funding our local law enforcement while holding them accountable, and passing much-needed public safety measures,” said Wes Moore. “We don’t have to choose between our public safety and justice–we can do both. And, with the Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund in the fight with me, we’ll work day and night to ensure we’re passing legislation to greatly reduce gun violence across Maryland.”

“The fact that so many candidates are running hard on gun safety is further proof that the political calculus has changed, and that supporting common-sense gun laws isn’t just good policy — it’s also good politics,” John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund. “Ending our gun violence epidemic requires supporting gun safety laws, and that requires electing strong gun safety champions like the candidates we’re endorsing today.”

“Gun sense majorities in state capitols across the country have delivered life-saving progress on gun safety. Now is the time to build on that momentum by re-electing our champions and growing these majorities,” said Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action. “These gun sense champions can count on a grassroots army of Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action volunteers to put everything on the line to get them elected in November.”
