“One of the first and most basic priorities of governing is to ensure that families do not go hungry,” said Governor Wes Moore. “We will continue to do everything in our power to protect our people in these difficult times. But no state can fill the enormous gap created by Donald Trump and his administration. It’s time for the federal government to do its job and fully fund food assistance.”
Governor Moore Continues Push For Redistricting
Governor Moore announced the creation of a bipartisan Governor’s Redistricting Advisory Commission chaired by Senator Angela Alsobrooks to consider mid-cycle redistricting by organizing public hearings and soliciting public feedback.
“My commitment has been clear from day one—we will explore every avenue possible to make sure Maryland has fair and representative maps,” said Governor Wes Moore. “This commission will ensure the people are heard. I thank those who have raised their hands to lead this process, and I am confident in their ability to gather the views and perspectives of a broad range of voices throughout the state.”
