By Anissa Lopez

A combat veteran and Marylander is running for Governor.

Wes Moore was born in Takoma Park, Maryland. He is a small business owner, author, and former CEO of an anti-poverty organization. Moore also served as a captain and paratrooper with the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne. Moore is running for Maryland Governor to bring economic opportunities for all Marylanders, on top of, supporting health care, education, and transportation.

Moore said as Governor he would also ensure the Eastern Shore doesn’t get left behind, adding that we cannot have a thriving Maryland if the Eastern Shore isn’t thriving.

“We need to make sure we are supporting our water men and our farmers, we need to make sure we are supporting our healthcare workers, and our law enforcement officers, and our first responders, we need to make sure that we have transportation assets that can move people from where they live to where they work,” Moore said.
