ANNAPOLIS, MD – Last week, Senator Antonio Hayes published an opinion piece in the Baltimore Sun highlighting his support for Governor Moore’s reelection campaign.
“In Governor Wes Moore, we have a leader who acts with our best interests at the top of mind,” said Senator Antonio Hayes. “He invests in us, he believes in us. We can’t afford to go back to the days of “no” and “slow,” Baltimore. We have a governor that says “yes” and “now!” I hope you’ll join me in continuing this progress we are seeing across our city by reelecting Governor Moore next November.”

Since taking office Governor Moore has been clear: if Maryland wants to succeed the state’s largest city must be thriving, and he’s taken action to make that happen. To date the Governor has put more than $50 million into Baltimore’s local law enforcement, tens of millions of dollars in grant awards and a new philanthropic fund to support vacancy reduction, and record education funding for K-12 schools.
Now, Baltimore currently has the lowest number of homicides at this point in a year in fifty years. Statewide, nearly every single grade has made improvements in reading and math scores and Baltimore is leading the way forward, and Baltimore has $7 billion in economic development initiatives underway in the city.
