Democratic nominee for Maryland Governor joins Mayor and Police Commissioner promotion ceremony for Baltimore Police Department

BALTIMORE (Aug. 5, 2022) – Democratic nominee for Maryland governor Wes Moore today attended a promotion ceremony for leaders within the Baltimore Police Department. Moore joined Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott, Police Commissioner Michael Harrison, and other community leaders at the event at Baltimore Police Headquarters.

The promotion ceremony included a personal family friend of Moore’s who was promoted from Detective to Captain.
“Public safety is personal to me. I was proud to be here to support this class of leaders in the Baltimore Police Department, which included a dear family friend,” Wes Moore said. “I will be a governor who fights to give law enforcement the support they deserve as we work with communities to fulfill our central responsibility to ensure public safety for every family in Maryland.”
