Governor Moore And Lieutenant Governor Miller Launch 2026 Reelection Campaign in Baltimore

Gov. Moore Pledges To “Push Back And Push Forward” To Lower Costs, Continue Record Drops In Crime, And Make Our Schools Even Stronger

Today, Governor Wes Moore, First Lady Dawn Moore, Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller, Second Gentleman David Miller, Comptroller Brooke Lierman, Baltimore City Mayor Brandon Scott, Maryland Democratic Party Chairman Steuart Pittman, and many local leaders kicked off the 2026 reelection campaign with hundreds of Marylanders in attendance at a rally in Baltimore City.

“If you never forget who you’re fighting for, you will never stop fighting,” said Governor Wes Moore. “In four years, we have delivered enormous progress, and defied the false choices of insider politics. But there is still more work to do. Maryland is facing a tireless assault from a corrupt White House that keeps raising prices on everything from groceries to rent. But in the face of challenge, we steel our resolve and push forward. This campaign stands with Marylanders of all backgrounds, stories, zip codes, and creeds who see a brighter future for our state. And together, we will leave no one behind.”

“Wes is a promise-keeper. He honors his word. He never tires. And he fights every day for the people of Maryland,” said First Lady Dawn Moore. “Over the last four years, he has kept his promises to Marylanders, creating new pathways to work, wages, and wealth for all. And in this election, he is running not just on a bold vision, but on a strong record of results. It’s time for us to run it back, and push forward, as we continue to bring Marylanders together and make life better for every person in our state.”

“Today, we take the next step in our work to leave no one behind, and we’re fired up to travel the state and meet Marylanders where they are,” said Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller. “Together, we’ve done the hard work of turning values into action by making communities safer, expanding opportunity, and delivering real results for families. This has always been a partnership, with each other and with the people of Maryland.”

“Living with Aruna, I see things other people don’t–the late nights, the early mornings, the genuine care she carries for every Marylander she serves,” said Second Gentleman David Miller. “Public service isn’t a role she stepped into, it’s been her life’s work. Alongside Governor Moore, she’s making a difference, and I couldn’t be prouder to be by her side.”

“Governor Moore and Lieutenant Governor Miller have been true partners in delivering for Marylanders, whether we are working together at the Board of Public Works to make sure every state dollar delivers best value, joining forces to demand the Trump Administration reimburse Marylanders the $4 billion taken from our families through illegal tariffs, or tackling the housing affordability crisis that so many of our neighbors face,” said Comptroller Brooke Lierman. “With the federal government pulling back from our state, this partnership matters more than ever. I am proud to stand with them as we keep building a Maryland that leaves no one behind.”

“Since Governor Moore has taken office, we’ve proven that partnership will always win out over division.,” said Baltimore City Mayor Brandon Scott. “When I first took office as Mayor, we had a governor who literally tried to take Baltimore off the map. Now, we have a partner in Governor Moore who is always ready to stand shoulder to shoulder with us as we grow Baltimore’s renaissance and shows his love for our city in every aspect of the work we do together.”

“We are proud to see the real progress Team Maryland has made in creating more jobs, growing businesses, and making communities safer across our state,” said Maryland Democratic Party Chairman Steuart Pittman. “The Moore-Miller administration has shown what it means to lead with purpose and deliver results. This election is about continuing that work and ensuring it reaches every part of our state.”

When Gov. Moore took office, Baltimore was averaging nearly a homicide a day, crime was rampant, its economy had stalled, and our schools weren’t getting the resources they needed to prepare our young people for the future. But, for this to be Maryland’s decade, our state’s largest city must be firing on all cylinders. That’s why he invested more in Baltimore than any governor in the history of Maryland. Whether its record drops in violent crime, large literacy gains in public schools, or creating a booming economy in Baltimore–Gov. Moore is doing what it takes to put Maryland’s largest city on the right track. To learn more about Governor Moore’s record in Baltimore click here.
